Impossible Project Process and Giveaway Ends Today!

I'm still plucking away at my impossible project.

So far I've gone through almost all the magazines in the studio. I've torn out anything I want to keep and this entire box is bound for recycling!

Unfortunately I haven't made much progress on the island since my last update. This week I caught a bug that seems to be going around and had that vague blah feeling having a temperature gives you. So I really didn't get much done.

But at least I could go through magazines!

And just incase you've somehow missed me beating this drum all week (or just like to wait until the last minute to enter).

So if you haven't entered already, hop on over to this post and leave a comment for a chance to win. I'll be doing the random drawing and tomorrow and announcing the winner. Good Luck Everyone!

Patriots Pops

Just a reminder:

So if you haven't entered to win the Simply Screen Custom Silk Screen Kit by Plaid jump on over to this post and leave a comment to enter!

The Patriots have done it again and are going to the Super Bowl! I thought the occasion called for a repost of the football jersey cereal treat pops I made at the beginning of the season.

At the time I admitted that these treats could be themed for any team (I try to keep my personal sports team preferences/grudges off the blog as much as possible). But given that this is the Super Bowl (and taking into account the last Giants vs. Patriots Super Bowl) I'm going to retract that statement. This tutorial is only suitable for making Patriots themed treats... it definitely just won't work if you are rooting for the Giants.

Lovable Felted Snowman

First up, just a reminder that I've got a giveaway going on right now to celebrate my 3 year blogiversary. If you haven't entered to win the Simply Screen Custom Silk Screen Kit from Plaid then click over to this post and simply leave a comment to enter!

Now after all my complaining and struggling with felting white wool and finally making a snowball, I thought you should see what I created with it.

Meet my snowman.

He's kinda warm and snuggly for someone who's supposed to be made from snow... but it's probably because he's got a big heart.

And a warm scarf.

I made him by using a combination of wet felting and needle felting. That's why he's much larger than a normal needle felted piece (at just over 9 inches tall). I also wove the scarf from scrap yarn and felted that too.

When I first started the snowballs this was the project I had in mind. As I struggled with the white wool I thought "if this actually works it will be the only snowman I make because this is too hard to felt" but now that he's all done I kinda want to make him some friends.
