Here is my entry in the Black Heart Anti-Valentines Contest at dabbled.
I think "Valentine" and my mind jumps right to card- so why not an anti-valentine card. The idea for a card to cupid (and his missed targets) had already started percolating but really solidified after a good friend had her relationship break-up last week. This card brought me back to some of my own anti-valentines spirit of past years- and I had a lot of fun making this!
Here are some close-ups and details:
The card is 7x7. The heart target on the inside center panel is a combination of hearts traced using cookie cutters as stencils and some hand lettering. The missed arrow holes are punched through the velum backing and card.
A detail of the shot list and the tiny broken heart at the top.
The arrows are made using skewers cut in half. The arrow heads are polymer clay, and the ends are paper hearts cut in half then glued in place.
Very clever! Thanks for entering!
ReplyDeleteOooh I love it! Very creative. I was going to enter too but a combination of not enough time and project ideas I didn't *love* held me back. Next year for sure! In the meantime - good luck!
ReplyDeletethis is just ADORABLE! i LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteHappened in here while searching something totally unrelated -- just wanted to say...great sense of humor...very clever!
ReplyDeleteMaking this card was a lot of fun, and it reminded me of more info of my own anti-Valentine's Day enthusiasm from earlier years!
