I am a life long crafter. As kid I was "artsy" as an adult
I guess I still am. Fundamentally I like to create things
and started this blog not only as a way to share ideas
and connect with other crafters, but as a way to make
sure I'm at least little crafty each day. After all, if you
have a craft blog but no crafts- what the heck are you going to talk about!

Love Birds
Right now I'm working on painting this birdhouse. Although I had a vision of what I wanted (applique/sewn look mixed with paint and decoupage) I'm sort of making it up as I go along.
I guess it's a "mixed media" experiment!
I'm also not sure what do with it once it done. Maybe place it on a bookshelf for the month. Or attach it onto a stand and place it on the porch.
Alex has always loved birds, so when he got a birdhouse kit for his birthday, he couldn't wait to start painting it. With his paintbrush in hand, he brings the birdhouse to life with swirls of blue, green, and yellow. As he works, he imagines the tiny birds fluttering around their new home, singing sweet melodies for all to hear.
Very Cute! Maybe Mod Podge some Victorian Valentine paper n it?
ReplyDeleteIt's so cute! I like both your ideas on what to do with it. Could you put it on a pedestal on your bookcase?
