However this year I felt it really was appropriate to look back at 2011, express my thanks for everyone who reads this blog or has featured my projects, and share my hopes for 2012. I felt like last year really was the year of the craft for me- and I'm hoping 2012 will continue on the same path.
2011- The year really exceeded my crafty hopes or blogging expectations.
It started out with an amazing experience- being published in Parenting Magazine. In some ways I'm still totally shocked and surprised that it happened. But there they are my Daffodil Lemon Muffins.
The blog also grew in readership, more than any other year so far. I'm so, so thankful to all of you who are reading my posts, trying projects, and leaving comments. A thousand times thank you because honestly when I started this blog I was pretty convinced nobody but my husband was going to read it.
Another big huge Thank You goes out to all the sites that featured my projects, and the companies I got to work with this year. I'm not going to name you because I'm pretty sure I'd miss someone, and I'd feel terrible if I did that! ( I really didn't mean this to sound so much like an awards speech. It really is hard to express your gratitude to a group of people and be careful not to accidentally slight someone by leaving them out.)
I'm also happy to have made new connections with other bloggers. Sharing a common creative spirit is truly one of the best things about blogging!
I also hosted my first (hopefully of many) craft-alongs.
At first it felt like deciding to throw a party and secretly being afraid no one would show up. But I'm so happy I took the chance because it turned out great and I celebrated all season long with new blog friends and some gorgeous handmade Christmas trees.
2012- Possibilities!
That's the word that best describes the year when I think about goals and plans for 2012.
As always I intend on doing more tutorials and trying new crafts.
I even have some plans to try delivering tutorials in a new medium... I don't want to say too much about it in case it doesn't work out... but I think it could be awesome.
More than anything I really want to keep the creative momentum I've built in 2011 rolling. Whether that means new partnerships, craft projects taking new forms, or things I can't even dream of yet I say bring it on!
So cheers to 2012!
I'll be back next week with new post and projects. January should be a fun one around here... I'll be celebrating the blog's third anniversary!
Looking forward to more of your crafty goodness in 2012!
