Quilled Dala Card

I can't say it enough- I really enjoy how blogging has allowed me to connect me with other crafters, be inspired by them and learn new things.

This Dala Card is a perfect example.

Pam at Gingerbread Snowflakes is currently doing a Dala craftalong with a few other bloggers as part of her Christmas in July celebration. (Anyone can join the craftalong- so if you're interested here's a link to the flickr pool).

I didn't even know what a Dala was until I learned about them through Pam's posts. But once I knew about them I wanted to play along. The tradition of these horses is really sweet and the patterns decorating them are gorgeous. They instantly made me think of doing my own interpretation using quilled paper.

Which is something else that never would have happened if I hadn't started blogging.

Ever since I stumbled onto Ann's blog- All things Paper I have been quite taken with quilling. If you haven't read Ann's blog I highly recommend it. She always has gorgeous paper eye candy/inspiration to share. And her quilling tutorials and patters have taught me enough to make various quilled cards and ornaments!

  1. Really, Meg, is there anything you don't do?

    I hope to see more!
