Spinning. Out of control.

They should put a warning label on the spinning wheel, It's totally addictive. I've spun two bobbins full and am pretty close to filling the third.

The upside is I'm definitely getting better. See how wobbly the yarn is on this first bobbin

Much smoother on the second.

  1. Well done.. how's the fingers doing? After knitting a bit I notice how dry my nail tips were and I had to clip them short. OH well, it's just nails right? Nice job on the spinning too!!!!

    with love,

  2. Wow. I did not need to see this! The one activity I have not yet been sucked into is spinning, but posts like this make me wonder why.

  3. Thanks for the comments ladies. Olivia- My fingers actually don't hurt at all! I remember when I first started knitting and my fingers really hurt the first few times I knit for a while.

Jill- LOL. I was mesmerized the first time I watched someone spin. You may hate me for saying this... but it's the most fun I've had compared to other "wool activities". And I really love to knit so that's saying a lot.

I've actually begun to dread that I can't take the spinning wheel with me like I can pack up a knitting project! It's bad... real bad.

  4. Where did you get your wheel and what kind is it? I so so so want to get into spinning (spin fiber art) and I can't seem to find any wheels near me...the weird part is I live in sheep and alpaca country in Utah. Go figure. I am looking for a use wheel, like the Honeybee. Art tips? and yes I could WATCH if for hours, just thing when I start DOING?
    Thanks, Dana
