Happy Thursday- the weekend is just around the corner! And I have to say I'm really looking forward to Saturday's giveaway (not that today's or tomorrow's giveaways aren't fun... I'm just excited for Saturday, which is my actual blogiversary!)
I've had a lot of firsts in this last year of blogging.
I tried some new crafts :

Pysanky- Ukrainian Dyed Easter Eggs

And took some classes doing things I've wanted to try for a really long time:

Dyeing Fiber

and Yarn
Made my first cake
Had my first feature on another site

And guest post

I've also done my first online collaboration.

Every month Joanne, from Ready, Set, Craft! and I do a coordinated post called Cupkins. Together we decide on a theme for each month then Joanne makes a cupcake and I make a muffin around the theme. We post them the first Monday of each month. ( You can click here if you want to check out my Cupkins posts, click here if you want to see Joanne's)

Apple cider muffins from September
I got to know Joanne simply from blogging- first sharing comments, then emails and now collaborating on the cupkins posts. Over the past year we've become friends and it's exactly this kind of creative camaraderie that I hoped to get out of having this blog.
So in honor of firsts and friends I'm giving away this "Cupkins" inspired set of goodies,

the Martha Stewart cupcake paper punch (I got mine a while ago and it quickly became one of my favorite punches)

multi pack of glitter in a wide range of colors

cute cupcake stamp and mini ribbon

and some paper!
Here's How To Enter:
Leave a comment telling me about a new craft you'd like to try (good for one entry). If you're a follower or become a follower you get an extra entry (total of two chances to win)!
This giveaway ends Thursday January 21st at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time and is open to US residents (sorry international readers). I'll pick a winner using a random number generator and announce it on Friday afternoon in my post.
Good Luck and Thanks for Entering!
Oh and here's a hint for tomorrow: Rock paper scissors can be a crafty game. And just because I'm so excited about Saturday I'll give a hint for that one too- It's going to glitter like Florentine Gold... and 23 other colors.
Update: The Winner of yesterday's Valentines giveaway is Gocanucksgo. Congratulations! Your email address isn't in your profile so please send me an email with your address. Thanks to everyone who entered yesterday by leaving comments, being a follower and posting on your sites. I enjoyed reading them all and seeing your blogs too!

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if this technically counts as a craft, but I would like to learn how to use my sewing machine! I have had it for three years and finally took it out of the box last year. I have been unable to channel my inner 13 year old who learned how to use one in home ec in middle school.

I would like to learn how to sew. I received a sewing machine not too long ago and I have tried to do little things but I think I am going to need to take a class to really get going. I am excited and I know I can learn if I try.

I'd like to learn how to sew this year. I think I want to make some curtains for my guest room and for our office. I also want to see if I can make some clothes for my self.
ReplyDeleteI crochet but this year I set a goal to learn how to knit. So that is my new craft I would like to learn. My house is already filled with yarn so all I need to do is buy the needles!

I want to learn how to knit. I learned to crochet in college when I was working in my theatre department's costume shop as the wig mistress (they also taught me hoe to sew. pattern, dye fabric, everything) but I never learned knitting. And knitted scarves and blankets always look so darn comfy!
ReplyDeleteGlassblowing! How cool is that? The next craft I'm going to pursue is spinning. It's the one area of wool that I haven't yet dived into.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try the needle felting --- but I'm not even sure how to begin.

ReplyDeleteI loved hearing all the crafts that people would like to try. I would like to learn to use my sewing machine better. And I wish I could crochet... but I fear that's a lost cause!
Oh gosh! A new craft... hmm... I am working on my sewing skills! I would like to make coasters soon. I found a super cute tutorial for them.
