Sorry for being MIA there for a while. But I'm back now with a card to share.
The inspiration came from tree "keys". I saw a bunch of these on my stairs one day and out of nowhere it hit me that they looked like dragonfly wings. Isn't it funny how you can see something hundreds, even thousands of times, and out of nowhere you suddenly see it in a whole new light.
I collected a few keys and let them dry. Then I painting a small water color pondscape.
I glued my tree keys into place then used a mix of blue and green glitter for the body.

Very cute! I love dragonflies. But the "keys" where we live have really fine prickles on them. Ouch!
ReplyDeleteOuch- those don't sound craft friendly at all! : )
DeleteThank for the comment Carol.
Really adorable card--Now that you mention it they certainly do look great as dragonfly wings!
ReplyDeleteThanks craftymoose!
DeleteOh Meg! what a wonderful way to use these magical little "helicopters" as we used to call them as kids. I hope we still have some left on our trees. I absolutely love your new card.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam!
