Yogurt Cup Planter For Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day,

Here is a quick fun project that transforms an empty greek yogurt container into a small decorative planter in just a few minutes. I got the idea from this project I did about a month ago. This is a quick earth friendly adaptation. I used the greek yogurt because I like the shape- but you can use any plastic container you like.

You need and empty yogurt container some ribbon, jute and hot glue.

I started with a container that I'd removed the label from.

Added a ribbon to the top where it was flat (adds a nice bit of color)

Then attached the jute with a small dot of hot glue.

For the first row I glued the jute pretty frequently to get a stable start, then the occasional dot of glue a few times per row works just fine.

Wrap the whole pot up and your done!

Makes a great small table decoration.

And it's a fun and easy reuse project for kids (also Mother's Day is coming up, this would be a sweet gift!)

  3. Thanks Ladies. Tracey- I had loads of these in the recycling (seemed like such a shame) and I kept thinking... they have to be useful for something!
