Zebra Cake

I just finished making a Sweet 16 cake.

The design was inspired by a cake the birthday girl saw and fell in love with.

The original cake was a topsy turvy, but I didn't feel ready to tackle that type of cake engineering challenge just yet. This was the tallest cake I've made, and more challenging than it might seem at first glance. That gravity defying bow around the middle kept me up a few nights when I was in the planning stages.

But I'm happy to say all that worrying was for nothing, because the bow stayed in place perfectly (even through a windy, bumpy drive in the car). Phew!

The design was also really different from most of the birthday cakes I've made. Usually I'm making them for my little nephew so I'm designing cakes with cookie eating monsters and ravenous caterpillars. It was a lot of fun working with hot pink fondant, I think I'll have to do it again soon!

  1. Your cake came out great! I love the hot pink with the black and white and will have to give this color combo a try sometime. Congrats again on a gorgeous cake!

    1. Thanks Susan! This color combo was really fun. The only thing I had to be careful with is that the black fondant stains anything you stick it to... so I had to be really sure of all my placement of the zebra stripes and bows.

  5. Preschool playground equipment is specifically designed to cater to the developmental needs of young children, fostering physical, social, and cognitive growth in a playful environment. Colorful and sturdy structures such as slides, swings, climbing frames, and imaginative play zones encourage gross motor skills, coordination, and spatial awareness. Safety is paramount, with rounded edges, non-slip surfaces, and low heights to minimize potential risks.

Many sets incorporate educational elements like alphabet panels or sensory components to enhance early learning. Preschool playgrounds aim to create a joyful atmosphere that promotes social interaction, teamwork, and creativity, laying the foundation for a positive and active approach to physical activity in young children.

  6. El diseño era muy diferente al de la mayoría de las tartas de cumpleaños que he hecho. I normally make them for my little nephew, so I make cakes with monsters that eat cookies and ravenous caterpillars. Trabajar con hot pink fondant fue muy divertido, y creo que volveré a hacerlo pronto. I am so grateful that you shared this wonderful article with us. Estoy seguro de que muchos lectores lo encontrarán muy útil. Gracias por tomarse el tiempo de escribir un artículo tan educativo.
