This morning I'm kicking off what I like to call Sewing 101 week.
If you've been reading this blog for a while you know that a few months ago I made a declaration that I will sew something!
Which was a bold statement, given my checkered past when it comes to the fabric arts. I also may have mentioned something like "making this declaration publicly might help to hold me to it"... and it has (even if it is 3 months in the making).
For today I thought it would be appropriate to start off by linking to an amazing series of beginner videos (below) that are really helping me get started.
Tomorrow and Thursday I've lined up guest posts from two of my favorite (and most admired) sewing skilled ladies, who will be sharing some great tutorials for beginner projects. And later this week I'll also be attempting my first real project!
So if you'd like to learn to sew or get back on that machine again, this week is for you!
Watch these videos, get yourself some supplies, then check back tomorrow for the first fabulous tutorial.

They've also done videos for everything from sewing a straight line to decorative stitches. All the lessons can be found here.
Thanks for stopping by!
I'm looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane. I've been really excited for this week. I can't wait to get started on my first real sewing projects with the help of those more experienced than myself (you included)!
