Gingerbread Houses and Snowman Cakes

Between preparing for the holidays and catching one of the many bugs going around, I didn't have the time or the energy to post in December. So I thought I'd do a little catching up.

I participated in a gingerbread building contest for a local charity. Here's what my sister and I came up with:

Each gingerbread construction team got the same pieces for the house. Then it was up to us what to do with it.

We went for a more "traditional" looking house and a "snow day theme". Here's a close up of some of the snow day accessories I made.

I also made this snowman cake:

The love the little snowmen around the middle tier.

Don't they look like they might start dancing around the edge of the cake any minute, while the snow gently falls. (Ok maybe I'm the only one who sees that... but that's what I thought of while making it.)

I have another cake to share next week. Then maybe something that didn't require any baking.

  1. they may begin moving around the edge of the cake any moment, order research proposal while the snow delicately falls.the one in particular who sees that yet that is my opinion about while making it.
