Costume's Done

Ok so when I posted about knitting this secret costume accessory, what I didn't tell you is that I was also planning on sewing parts of my costume.

Since I'm not great at sewing and I wasn't sure if I'd actually be able to make a costume but

  • 3 black Tee shirts
  • 3 pairs of gloves

  • Some Polyfill Stuffing
  • Fishing line
  • Half a skein of glow in the dark yarn
  • A pair of black pants plus some jewelry I already owned

And I've got a completed costume that I'm really happy with!

I cut the sleeves off of two shirts. Sewed the gloves to the ends of the sleeves and stuffed them with the polyfill. Then stitched them all to to the shirt I left whole. Once that was done I attached the stuffed arms on each side to the real sleeves with fishing line so they'd move with my arms.

To top it off my glow-in-the-dark web shawl.

I told hubby that I should put my spinning wheel out on the porch and spin some yarn in costume while we hand out candy.

Merry-Go- All the way around!

So I hope you don't mind two non-crafty posts in a row but I'll make up for it once Halloween is over.

Some of you might remember my foray into cake making for my sister's baby shower.

Over the weekend hubby and I took our nephew for his first ride on this same carousel where we held the shower.

We had a good laugh about this really being the second time he was riding it since my very pregnant sister took a few spins during the party just over a year ago. I can't believe he's almost 1 already!

If you missed it the first time you can check out my carousel party posts with the link below.
